Whether it is a new building or a home where renovation is to be desired, the finishing works of the walls include several stages. You have to be prepared from the beginning with a lot of patience, because it takes a few weeks for your home to look more like a construction site, according to the painters in Fort Collins.
Clean the walls
In interior painting, the first step is to clean the walls of the old paint. Whether the walls were washable, lime or human, it must be removed before repainting the walls of the room. Cleaning the old painting is done after wetting the walls, soaking the paint and identifying the areas where the old slate swells and needs to be repaired. We water the walls with water using the brush. If the walls are well moistened, the old paintwork is easily removed from the wall by means of an apron.
After the old paintwork has been cleaned, the walls must be repaired with plaster or glue, if necessary after which the plaster is applied. The primer is prepared very quickly from the water with water. The proportion is at most 1 / 10. We mix well with water in a bucket to dissolve it. Apply the primed primer directly onto the wall to moisten the walls.
After that, let the walls draw the moisture, between 1/2 hour and 1 hour: winter longer, less summer, because it dries faster. A common mistake is to apply the primer to the roller. The correct priming mode is that only the substance penetrating into the pores of the material. Only one hand is enough.
Then move to the walls. This operation is done with a load-bearing tile (preferably with gypsum plaster) especially for obtaining smooth surfaces on the walls and ceilings inside the buildings.
Characteristics of the cargo trolley are:
– allows the creation of layers up to 10 mm,
– offers high resistance, in short time, a high degree of adhesion,
– Thickness crack resistance and a matt white finish.
The glue should be applied uniformly to the substrate with the help of the gutter. The layers applied to the wall can be finished by pressing with the scraper iron shortly before the material socks. See more here.
Drying time: about one day / 5 mm layer.
A finishing layer is applied to the surface, so it is fine and very white, generates a low paint consumption, finishes very easily and is tough enough to withstand scratching. It can be applied in a layer up to 3 mm.
For the finishing of the slate, we use either a canvas or abrasive paper or a coarse mesh. First, we have one with larger grain size, and in the final finishing, a finer grain, to give the walls a more pleasant look. The advantage of the abrasive net is that it allows the passage of dust resulting from finishing, while at the same time achieving an efficient and fine finish of the walls.
Walls are finished and finished, so we prepare to apply washable paint. We primed the walls before painting them. The role of the primer is to equalize the absorption capacity of the wall. Thus, the washable paint will be applied and dried evenly. The process is the same as using the primer to the wall.
Is it okay to paint in the winter?
Yes and no. Depends on the specific conditions. If this is an old building, things are relatively simple. You can paint almost without problems, but you would still have to wait for a period of favourable external temperatures. With the house heated, you can open the windows to remove excess moisture.
It is more complicated when it comes to a building under construction. Even with the heating system in operation, a new house is entirely different from an old house. So do not hurry with the slate and especially with the decorative plaster.
Also, leave a long enough time between grinding/finishing and the installation of the parquet. If you hurry, surely your floor will swell! Things are even more apparent if the level is massive.
